Factor Affecting On Ionization Energy
I have already published my article about IONIZATION ENERGY if you want to read it first click on this above link
trends.htmlhttp://entertainmentme.blogspot.com/2014/03/ionization-energy-and-its-trends.html
I) Atomic Size
The total distance from nucleus of an atom up to outer most shell called atomic size of an atom
If the size of an atom is greater it mean there are more number of shell in an atom so small energy is required to remove the electron from shell ....how ??
let me tell you about atom first

I) Atomic Size
The total distance from nucleus of an atom up to outer most shell called atomic size of an atom
If the size of an atom is greater it mean there are more number of shell in an atom so small energy is required to remove the electron from shell ....how ??
let me tell you about atom first
Here it is an atom ,we all know that nucleus is present in the center of an atom there are proton and neutron in the nucleus .Proton is positively charged and neutron is neutral, it mean nucleus has positive charge ,and electron revolving around the nucleus in shell , electron is a negatively charged particle ,
(like charges repelled each other unlike charge attract each other)
It mean nucleus (positive charge) attract electron (negative charge) towards it self and that is why electron revolve in a shell because of nuclear force ... nucleus hold electron in a shell..
If the size of an atom is small ,no doubt nucleus hold the electron tightly because the distance between nucleus and the electron is very small when the size of an atom is small .. Got it ?
so at the end we can say that smaller the size of an atom larger amount of energy is required to remove the electron from the shell
Is that clear ????
Now Look on periodic table from top to bottom and left to right which element has greater ionization energy and which element has smaller ionization energy ??
Simple !! From top to bottom atomic size is increases because extra shell is added so size of an atom increases ,It mean ionization energy is decreases from top to bottom ,if the size of an atom is large, small amount of energy is required to remove the electron it mean nucleus hold lesser force on electron because distance between nucleus to outer most shell is increases
let me tell you if you bring two magnet closer to each other they will attract each other similarly if we increase the distance between two magnet they cannot attract each other easily because of distance,
Similarly if the distance between nucleus to outer most shell is increases we can pick electron easily from the shell so lesser amount of Ionization energy is required
From left to right Ionization energy is increases because number of proton is increases in every shell it mean nuclear charge or nuclear force is going to increases so large amount of energy is required to remove the electron

i hope you got it ,if not plz ask me via email i will get back to you
take care
